• confident — nothing tries too hard
• intentional — every element earns its place

Restraint is the opposite of decoration,
but not the opposite of expression.

• Tone — calm, controlled
• Contrast — used with precision
• Softness — gentle, not ornamental
• Expression — personality without excess
• Spacing — enough room for meaning to breathe

Restraint creates legibility.
It lets structure speak for itself.

They are not new pillars.
They are sub‑dimensions of Tone
and modifiers of Expression.

• Loudness = how intense the tone feels
• Restraint = how disciplined the expression feels

They sit naturally under:

• Tone → loud ↔ quiet
• Expression → restrained ↔ expressive

They complete the emotional vocabulary
without expanding the structural pillars.
